How do you do all this?

Actually, I generally use robots that I can buy commercially as a base...

Then I'll try to come up with what it'll look like and what I want to it be able to do...

After that, it's a matter of gathering all the parts I need and building it.

Nothing generally works all that well at first, and then I begin thinking about what to add or how to improve it. I usually arrive on a final design through trial and error.
